Walking the Talk!
Since the inception of the Weez Walk in 2021, I have supported fellow KELY Support Group Board Member Tony Bruno on his Walk around Hong Kong Island in memory of his son Jamie.
The Weez Walk this year is even more meaningful to me as I am participating especially in memory of two friends of mine, and a family member of a friend of mine, who in 2023 took their own lives, one being a fellow Rotarian.
The Weez Walk 2024 will take place from 20 Jan to 25 Feb 2024, and we’d love you and/or your company, club or organisation to participate to support the work of the KELY Support Group in addressing the increasing numbers of young people experiencing mental health issues, attempting suicide and taking their own lives.
It’s a 62 km route on the perimeter of Hong Kong Island, taking in all the amazing sights and sounds of the island's coastal areas, from rural to industrial, from beaches to urban, the route has it all. The walk can be completed in stages, or in anyway you like.
It has been a challenging time for many, and still is, and especially for young people at risk, which KELY is working with to prevent harmful outcomes, and we need your support to continue this very important work.
